Review: RENT 20th Anniversary Tour @ATTPAC @RentOnTour #Rent20

Opening Night Ovation for RENT: Feels like a Party! Opening night for RENT 20th Anniversary Tour in Dallas ended with a cheering crowd and a standing ovation. This much-lauded and multi-award-winning show with book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson plays through October 2nd at the AT&T Performing Arts Center as part of its 2016 – 2017 Broadway Series. It was obvious by the crowd’s cheers and anticipatory applause throughout the show that a good portion of the opening night crowd had not only seen RENT before, but they were very familiar with it. It felt like a party!   RENT’s Storyline: Making…

A Wild Ride & a New Kitty! #LangdonReview #VisitGranbury

A wild ride Wow! What a wild ride these past few weeks have been for me! Lots of good things are going on with my writing, but my hubby and I had some behind the scenes drama with his elderly father. He lives alone and some sweet talking scammers decided to talk him out of as much of his hard earned money as they could. Long story short, we beamed him up from Florida to Texas to live with us. While this was going on, I’ve been staying at a cozy guesthouse in Granbury, Texas – a quaint little town…

Of Cats & Men #LangdonReview #VisitGranbury

…and by men, I mean “my husband.” My husband is not particularly fond of cats. So while I’m in Granbury, Texas for my creative residency, Larry will have a chance to bond with Ms. Kalliope – or, at least, that is what I’m hoping for!   [This post is part of a series of daily updates as the 2016 Writer-in-Residence for the Langdon Review. If you missed a day, or this is your first time here, click here to see the other posts.] Clueless about cats My hubby is a smart guy, and a jack-of-all-trades, but when it comes to…

#LangdonReview #VisitGranbury Come to My Senses – a dream pop debut by Tui Snider

Album inspired by the Langdon Review For today’s update, I wanted to briefly touch on my music. My debut album is called “Come to My Senses” and features 10 original songs that I wrote and performed using mostly guitar, clarinet, flute, and synthesizers. This album was inspired by my writing residency in Granbury, Texas for the Langdon Review. I’m no good at figuring out genres, but listeners tell me it’s: mystical, ethereal, dream pop, folk, folktronica.  What do you think? Take a listen and tell me in a comment below. Meme, Myself & iPhone For today’s update, I wanted to briefly describe Meme, Myself & iPhone, which is a little book inspired by my upcoming writing residency for the Langdon Review. It showcases 12 of my favorite iPhone photos as well as the lyrics to my debut dream pop album, “Come to My Senses.” I also briefly reveal the story behind each song and photo.
