Daytime Hauntings in Texas
The following is an adapted excerpt from Paranormal Texas, my fun travel guide to haunted places near Dallas and Fort Worth. There’s no need to creep around Arlington City Cemetery after dark and wait for things to go bump in the night.

Like the aforementioned news crew, my husband and I also visited Arlington Cemetery in the middle of the day. As you can see in the photo below, I caught a strange misty column in one of my pictures.
Normally, I’d blame it on a dirty camera lens… However, this anomaly doesn’t show up in any of the other pics I snapped that day – and I took hundreds!

Haunted or not
As often happens, Arlington Cemetery is actually four smaller graveyards merged into one 10-acre area: the Old Cemetery, W.W. McNatt Cemetery Addition, the Masonic Cemetery, and the City Cemetery.
The most haunted section of Arlington Cemetery is reported to be the Old Cemetery section, which is the final resting place of early Texas settlers dating back to 1875.
Haunted or not, I certainly found the Old Cemetery to be the most interesting section of the graveyard. The oldest grave markers here include a couple of wooden ones made from bois d’arc trees. (That was the area where I snapped that photo of the mysterious mist.)
I’m also quite curious about the grave labeled “Mother” which you can see in the photo below. Why do you suppose it has a pair of shoes beside it and an empty photo frame?
Sinister or Peaceful?
While some folks claim to feel a sinister presence in this historic graveyard, I found Arlington Cemetery peaceful and inviting. My husband even mentioned that he wished we’d brought a picnic since it was so shady and serene.
Plus, after snapping that odd photo and learning about the daytime EVP’s captured here, I’d definitely like to return to this historic cemetery for an extended investigation…and a picnic!

I went in @ 6 or 6:30 several years back and encounterd several spirits and one was huge and it was by the Mazingo grave and i was videoing.., along w that some photos were crazy the shadows were makeing all kinds of bizzar images such as a child walking through , it was a small girl w a bow and anothet appears like a witch against a tree resting ,,, i had so much adrenalin in me i was awake for almost 48 hrs,, my phone shatterd soon after and the transfer video didnt record ,, there are definitely spirits and they can touch you too,,, i had been in there 100s of times,, walking my dogs just never w my camara and as soon as i did it was on and i was truely spooked from it,,, belive me it is high activity after dark and neer sunset,, it was an hr before dark and this one spirit is huge and caused goosebumps and shrills out of me,, i fled going fifty mph spinning rocks .im an empath and it was extremly intense and be aware,, ive seen these shoes and well its back in very back by the big black heart headstone w a baby marker leaned next to it,, and by Mazingo grave is where it touched me .,, and again by the old tree as i was walking out backwards ..i wasent about to turn my back and it was if i was escourted out to the metel bars that are old plumbing pipe,,, if you go in just scream loud enough so i can hear you.,, i know a many people buried in there,, but it is 1000% haunted ,,, went in oct 28 2013 .,, beware ., laugh now,,, promise you might get chills and touched and scream too!! if not escorted out by a big big spirit and his friend,,
