REVIEW: The Play That Goes Wrong #BwayGoesBad @attpac

If anything went wrong at last night’s opening for The Play That Goes Wrong in Dallas, it was impossible to tell. Opening night for this award-winning comedy ended with a cheering crowd and a standing ovation at the Winspear Opera House in the downtown Dallas Arts District. According to Murphy’s Law, “If anything can go wrong, it will go wrong.” And while there’s nothing funny about Murphy’s Law when you are on the receiving end, when it strikes others? Well, that’s another story! After all, without Murphy’s  Law, shows like “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and humor sites like Cake…

Guest Post: Five Incredible Facts about Trees by Patricia Lynne

New book from Patricia Lynne Whoo hoo! My pal, Patricia, has a brand new book coming out! It’s called Leaves of Fall, and since some of the main characters in it are trees, she’s written a guest post to celebrate her book release. I’ve read it, and as usual, the author kept me turning pages. Patricia has a real knack for creating interesting and unusual characters, and no matter how strange they are, you end up caring about them. Plus, a giveaway! Make sure you scroll all the way down this post, because there’s a giveaway to celebrate Leaves of Fall towards the…

Finally! Bag Express Lets You Travel Hands Free

Luggage is a drag! Traveling is fun, but walking with suitcases is a drag! Luggage is especially challenging in historic European cities with narrow cobblestone alleys (such as the one you see below.) Who wants to drag a roller bag through THAT? Sometimes you don’t have a choice. My husband, Larry, and I have been traveling round-the-world since January. We tried to pack light, but we had everything from glaciers to tropical beaches to consider. That’s why our luggage includes thermal underwear, jackets, and scarves, as well as swimsuits, shorts, and sunscreen. And, of course, all the souvenirs we’ve picked up…

Have you tried Digital Scrapbooking?

A new type of travel journal When I travel, I often pack a glue stick and scissors so I can make a scrapbook journal using maps, tickets, brochures, etc. For my upcoming round-the-world trip, however, I’m trying something new (at least to me!) I’m going to create a digital travel scrapbook!   Best of both worlds? I’m really excited about this! I usually end up with a paper scrapbook, a printed photo book, and a written journal for each trip. A digital scrapbook means I can easily incorporate my photos and travel ephemera directly into my written journal. Easy to share…

Secret Santas for Writers on Twitter!

What is a Secret Santa? Have you ever heard of a Secret Santa gift exchange? For me, it’s a family tradition. Each year after Thanksgiving dinner, my family members write our names on a slip of paper and toss it into a hat. Each of us then takes one slip of paper out of the hat and silently reads the name written there. We then become a Secret Santa for the person whose name we have drawn. You’re not supposed to tell anyone who you are a Secret Santa for until Christmas day. That’s when we have the big reveal! What…
