Traveler’s Show & Tell – 15th Edition

Welcome to Traveler’s Show & Tell: a weekly round-up of travel-related posts from the blogosphere. This week, Spicy Meatball makes a case for the city of Dublin, Ohio in a post entitled Why You Should Live in the Real Emerald City posted at The Spicy Meatball. According to her: The beauty of Dublin is that it has something for everyone — snobs, hippies, and everyone in between. And I always thought Seattle was the Emerald City! You know, I would love to make a road trip across the USA again – especially in an electric vehicle. Next, Shelly Tucker reviews…

The Italian – Texan Connection

As a recent transplant to the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex I agree with the state slogan of, “Texas, it’s like a whole other country.” It’s not only because the state is huge, or the fact that it has its own power grid. There is just something about Texas that sets it apart from other states. Every time I land in Dallas, for instance, I feel like I should get my passport stamped.

Three Things to Love about Southern Italy

This week’s guest post comes from the fabulous, Cherrye Moore, a Texan who now lives in Italy. (You may remember her funny post a few weeks ago about her nephew stumbling upon a topless sun-bather while visiting her in Italy.) Here’s her official biography: Cherrye Moore is an American writer and travel consultant living in southern Italy. You can read more about life in Calabria on her site My Bella Vita or join her this fall for the Calabria Table Tour, an 8-day cooking, food and wine tour of Calabria. I’m thinking that Calabria Table Tour sounds like a blast!…

Saturday Show & Tell – 12th Edition

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Show & Tell! Our first post is a photo essay by Nicole Elena Robertson entitled, Decoration in Istanbul posted at her blog, Nicole Elena Robertson. A tourist’s look at pattern and ornament in Sultanahmet, Istanbul Nicole didn’t provide too much information about herself, and (full disclosure!) I am putting this blog carnival together in a rush since we leave on our honeymoon tomorrow. I think she is an artist. Nicole, if you are reading this, feel free to toot your horn in the comments section. Nicole’s photos of those beautiful designs reminded me, somehow, of…

Saturday Show & Tell – 10th Edition

Welcome to this week’s Saturday Show & Tell blog carnival! Cherrye Moore of My Bella Vita kicks things off with a post entitled Auntie Adventures: Italian Beach Bums in which an outing with her nephew becomes quite memorable – just not in the way Cherrye had intended it to. As she describes: I’m convinced there really is something to that Aria Calabra that changes a once innocent, well-meaning, pooch-petting boy into a hormone-ranging mostro. Next up, Jennifer Miner presents How to Pick the Right Volunteer Vacation posted at The Vacation Gals – Family travel, girlfriend getaways, romantic getaways, destinations, things…
