Thanks for Pushing Me Over the Edge!

Phew! Wow! Where to begin? I’m pretty overwhelmed, but in a good way.  For starters, my Kickstarter Project was fully funded!!! I hated asking for financial help, and it was a really close call, but a few angel supporters swooped in at the last minute and pushed my campaign over the edge.  (And yes, I learned a lot from running that campaign, but that’s a topic for a future blog post.)   Major Heartfelt Thank You! Right now my main goal is to offer a hearty THANK YOU!!! to all 24 people who contributed to my Kickstarter: Brian Treybig Patricia Lynne…

Tui Snider: About my Music #dreampop #electronica

About my Music In addition to writing books, taking photos, and giving talks, I also compose music. This often comes as a surprise to people, since I don’t talk about it much. Even so, I’ve been writing songs and playing music for years. In fact, the first thing I ever wrote was a song called “Pig, Pot, Pan” because, at age 5, those were the only words I knew how to spell! Come to My Senses My first album is called “Come to My Senses,” and I recorded it in my dining room! And in answer to the question I’m…

My Kickstarter Campaign for a Book, Photo Show & Music CD

2016 Writer in Residence I haven’t mentioned it in a while, but I was chosen to be the 2016 Writer in Residence for Tarleton State University’s Langdon Review Weekend – and it’s coming right up! (Click here to read a blog post about last year’s Langdon Review Weekend.) The Langdon Review Weekend is an amazing annual literary conference, and I am super thrilled and honored to be their resident writer! My residency starts on August 27th. I’ll be staying in the gorgeous historic town of Granbury, Texas for two whole weeks with the sole purpose of creating and reaching out to the community. Brainstorm I’ve been brainstorming recently about what…

How to Create Quick & Easy Book Trailers with PowerPoint

Did you know you can use PowerPoint to create videos? I’m sure I’m not the only indie author with a rollicking to-do list, a list so long that a few things rattling around the bottom are gathering dust! One such item on my to-list is: “make a promotional book trailer.” Frankly, I find the idea intimidating! I don’t own fancy video editing software, and I’m nervous about the learning curve because I’m a hands on learner who absolutely hates reading directions. While soaking in the tub the other morning, it dawned on me that since I already use PowerPoint to create…
