Strolling by the River
I try to visit London at least once a year because that is where my step-daughter lives. We don’t always do the traditional touristy stuff, but we do always take a walk along the River Thames.
These shots were taken last fall as we walked home after a meal at a riverside pub. I was still pretty jet-lagged, so even now the whole thing feels a bit like a dream! Plus, I always forget how big swans actually are. Thank goodness they are friendly because if they wanted to attack, it would be pretty scary.
I’m not sure when my next trip to London will be, but I look forward to walking by the river again. Happy A to Z-ing, everyone. I’m still catching up, but I promise that my comments are coming soon to a blog near you! :D
Follow me on Instagram & I’ll follow you back!
I’ve gone from turning up my nose at the idea of cell phone pictures, to being an avid iPhone photographer, which is why my theme for the 2014 A to Z blog challenge is Instagram Travel Photos. If you are on Instagram, I’d be delighted to follow you. Simply follow my photo feed (@TuiSnider) on Instagram and I’ll follow you back!
For more, check out my collaboration with Morgan Dragonwillow. Morgan used my iPhone photos to accompany her poems in a book called Wild Woman Waking. Check it out!

My A to Z Inspired Book: Unexpected Texas
I’d like to thank everyone who commented on my blog during the A to Z Challenge last year, because it convinced me to take the self-publishing plunge. On March 2, 2014, I released Unexpected Texas as a paperback and eBook and it quickly became an Amazon Best Seller!
Beautiful pictures, a totally different side of London! Thanks for sharing it!
Hi Miss Andi, I must say, I’m always impressed by the amount of green areas, parks and natural spaces in London. For a bustling city, it offers a lot for outdoor enthusiasts. Thank you for dropping by! :D
Beautiful photos! The sunset is gorgeous, but I really like the abstract of the walkway, too.
Hi Rebecca! Thank you for commenting. I nearly missed the shot you mention, actually. We were walking the other direction, and – luckily – I decided to turn around and look back! :D
Beautiful swans…they scare me a little because they are so huge!
Hi Corinne, I hear ya! Those swans are graceful, elegant, and definitely intimidating! :D
Gorgeous pics. The only times I’ve visited London, I was jet lagged too. It’s definitely no way to see the city!
Hi Holli, Luckily I have family there, so it’s OK for me to kinda go splat for a day or two when I visit. Plus, jet lag makes a good excuse to watch British TV. They have some really good shows! :D
I’ve only seen swans from afar, but they do stop by Michigan from time to time.
Hi Patricia, From afar, they just look pretty… up close, though, you suddenly realize how freaking big they are! :D
