🎃 Denton: Halloween Capital of Texas

🪦 Upcoming Denton Events

Did you know that the City of Denton has officially declared itself The Halloween Capital of Texas? As they put it:

“Join us (if you dare) every October for a month of Halloween celebrations in the historic and haunted city of Denton, Texas. With over half a million visitors, hundreds of events, and an entire city decked out in haunted decorations, Halloween fun for all ages can be found lurking around every corner. Experience the holiday like never before with festivals, local markets, haunted history, live music, one-of-a-kind activities, festive cuisine, and so much more…”

There’s lots going on, but I’m taking part in three Denton Halloween events this October: two ghost hunts and one cemetery-themed talk. I’d love for you to join me!

👻 Ghost Hunt: Emily Fowler Library

Sunday, October 12, 2025 — 6:00 to 9:00 pm
📍 Emily Fowler Central Library, Denton TX

I’m part of Teal Gray’s Para Hunters and we’re teaming up with the North Texas Ghostbusters and for a family-friendly investigation of Denton’s historic library.

Legend has it that Emily Fowler herself still roams the stacks long after her death, moving books and even whispering “Shhh!” through ghost-hunting equipment. Attendees will get a chance to use paranormal investigation tools and try their hand at ghost hunting. (Click here for details.)

👻 Ghost Hunt: Oakwood Cemetery

Sunday, October 19, 2025 — 6:00 to 9:00 pm
📍 Oakwood Cemetery, Denton TX

Once again, Teal Gray’s Para Hunters teams up with the North Texas Ghostbusters. This time, it’s for a paranormal investigation at Denton’s historic Oakwood Cemetery. I’m so excited to be part of it! These hunts are always full of surprises, and I’ll also be on hand to explain the meaning of historic cemetery symbols during the evening.

Last year, we investigated Denton’s IOOF Cemetery, and it was both amazing and well-attended. This year’s Oakwood event promises to be just as memorable!

No need to bring your own gear! There will be experienced ghost hunters on site with equipment you can borrow and guidance on how to use it. Just wear good walking shoes and bring a flashlight if you have one. This is a family-friendly event and a wonderful way to celebrate spooky season. (Click here for details.)
