I love encouraging others!
Since I love encouraging others so much, I’m sharing Creative Encouragement Memes for this year’s A to Z Blog Challenge. The quotes are from all over, but I took each photo with my iPhone. Here’s today’s featured letter:
L is for Let Go of Perfectionism
Perfectionism is a sneaky being with claws. It seeps into your creative projects with the best of intentions. I only want you to do your best, it whispers, I’m only here to help you improve.
However, perfectionism is more than just doing your best. Perfectionism is an excess. Perfectionism keeps you from moving forward, keeps you from completing your projects. Perfectionism keeps you from having fun. It can paralyze you!
While it’s important to do your best, your best will never be perfect. As I’ve said before, give yourself permission to make mistakes, to bumble through. That’s the only way to move forward!
What about you? How do you avoid the paralyzing grip of perfectionism?
Follow me on Instagram & I’ll follow you back!
If you are on Instagram, I’d be delighted to follow you. Simply follow my photo feed (@TuiSnider) on Instagram and I’ll follow you back! Isn’t Instagram fun? I’ve gone from turning up my nose at the idea of cell phone pictures, to being an avid iPhone photographer. I even had my first gallery show last summer!
What is the April A to Z Blog Challenge?
Each April, bloggers from all over the world participate in the April A to Z blog challenge, and you can too. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to meet other bloggers.
To play along, all you do is make a blog post for each letter of the alphabet during April, then visit as many other bloggers as you can. In addition to my personal blog here, I’m also writing A to Z posts for the the Story Dam writing community. You can check those out by clicking here: Story Dam’s Writing Quotes & Encouragement

Hi Tui, I’m really not that bit a stickler about perfectionism, except when it comes to spelling. A misspelled word will stop me in my tracks until I have the correct spelling even if it requires a dictionary, my computer spell check, or even Google! Aside from that, I’m fairly relaxed.
Musings Over Poetry
Food For Thought
I remember once I got hung up by perfection. It really bogs down my writing ability. Once I let it go, then writing became much easier.
I have a VERY hard time with this one although I am much better as I get older. Some of it came from being first-born and some of it from a mother who suffered the same malady.
But I’m working on it!!

Perfectionism will also have you up all night making sure all is tight. This pedantic way of being is deadly. I avoid it by remembering I’m only 1 person and that tomorrow is another day.
