Pleasure Reading
This self-publishing thing has kept me mighty busy. I’m not complaining; it’s been a good busy, y’know? I’ve even had insomnia because I’m so excited about all my creative projects. It’s been hard each night to hop off my mental hamster wheel and get to sleep! There’s still so much to-do, and I *will* do it…
But…
Do you see that man in the photo above? That’s what I’d like to be doing right now – pleasure reading! My husband and I were wandering through a busy outdoor market when he caught my eye. I watched as he rode up on his bike, plopped down in that grand doorway, and sank into his own book-shaped world. So cozy!
Isn’t that a great feeling, to be swept off by a book? He was right across the street from us, but he was miles away. He was smack in the middle of a busy city, and yet he was so self-contained. Such is the magic of the written word.

I have fallen behind on my pleasure-reading, though, and I need to get back into that. The best time for me is right before bed. How about you? What time of day do you read for sheer pleasure?

I know of two novels that are FREE today. They are both by Katharine Grubb, and they look fun and interesting. One of them is called The Truth About the Sky and the other is Falling for Your Madness.
I just downloaded both, but I’m not sure which to read first. Such a delicious decision!

I know what you mean about pleasure reading, I have been so busy I haven’t even wanted to look at a book but I do miss it. I can’t wait for this week to come to a close so I can get back to my regular routine. I have started reading The Truth About The Sky and will hopefully get it finished in time for the StoryDam chat on the 27th. Have a great day!
