Halloween Trick-or-Treat Blog Hop: Get Your Goodies Here!

Halloween is a Big Deal at Castle Azle

I must confess that after living all over the place, including Belgium, Italy, and a tiny island with a population of 7, Texas gave me a hefty dose of culture shock. In fact, every time I remember my first Texan-style Halloween, I laugh. The year was 2009 and I had just moved in with my then-boyfriend-now-husband, Larry.

We were out shopping when Larry mentioned needing candy for trick-or-treaters. I promptly spotted a bag of mini candy bars and tossed it in our cart. It was a big bag, too, 5 pounds, which I figured that was plenty for the kiddies and for us to snack on later. Not so, Larry, who proceeded to toss 4 more bags of candy into our shopping cart.

“Really?” I blurted, “25 pounds of Halloween candy? How many pieces do you give each kid?”

“Just one each, but you wait,” he assured me. “We may even run out.”

I thought Larry was joking, but that year so many kids came trick-or-treating that we had to establish lanes on the stairs up to our house. We ended up with a mere 3 pieces left over. (And, as luck would have it, that trio did not include any of my favorites. *pout*)

For some reason, our neighborhood gets mobbed on Halloween. Our house is especially popular. I suppose this is because with its turret, gargoyles, griffins, and overgrown ivy, our home looks like a funky little castle. Larry and I often joke that we’re the Munster Mansion/Addams Family of Azle, Texas. We don’t even bother to take down our Halloween decorations afterwards – it fits our decor too well!

With such a great turnout, Larry and I get caught up in the festivities. (Although, full disclosure here: Larry and I love any excuse to play dress up. Check out what we wore for our Renaissance Fair wedding!)

We don’t just dress up, we get into character. One year we put on these (terrible) Irish accents. Months later, some kids were selling stuff for school & they asked, “Do the Irish people still live here?”

This year, I released a travel guide to haunted places called Paranormal Texas. To celebrate, I’ve been throwing an online book release party.

What this means for you is that I have Halloween treats all over my blog! You can win signed copies of both of my best selling books, mystery prizes (exciting!) and even a $20 Amazon Gift Card.

Read on to learn more:

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Blog Hop

At the bottom of this post, you will see a bunch of links to other blogs. These are links to other authors offering fun treats to readers who come trick-or-treating today!

Some of these authors are giving away free eBook versions of their books. Others are running contests. You’ll just have to visit each one to see what they are handing out.

Isn’t that fun?

My Trick-or-Treat Blog Hop Offer

Since I used my allotted free days with Amazon, I had to find a creative way to offer my book, Paranormal Texas, to you as a Halloween treat. Here’s what I came up with:

First off, I lowered the price of the eBook from the already-reasonable $4.99 to a mere 99 cents. Wheee!

But wait, there’s more! (That’s my late-night infomercial impersonation, in case you’re wondering.)

As an added Halloween treat, if you purchase Paranormal Texas today through November 2nd, I will send you a signed paperback copy for a mere $9. (Just so you know: the eBook normally sells for $4.99 and the paperback sells for $14.95, plus shipping & handling. I’m trying to be generous over here, y’all!)

Of course, if you simply want the eBook version of Paranormal Texas, 99 cents is a heck of a deal! Or, if you already have a copy, you could buy another and send it to a friend who likes reading true ghost stories about real haunted places. They’ll think you’re even more awesome than they already do, and it will barely dent your wallet!

To get the paperback, simply forward a copy of your Amazon receipt for the 99 cent version of Paranormal Texas to me at TuiSnider@gmail.com Also, remember to include your snail mail address so I know where to send your paperback. (Due to international postage prices, this offer is only open to those in the USA. Sorry!)
