Want a Road Trip Postcard from Me?

by Leave a Comment

Do you love postcards, too? I love getting postcards from friends. If they’re funny or interesting, I either tack ’em to the wall for travel inspiration or I use them for bookmarks. Plus, it’s such a pleasant surprise to get something in the mail besides a bill – and to see someone’s actual handwriting! So, […]

Photo Essay: UFO Themed Town of Roswell, New Mexico

by Leave a Comment

OK, so it was actually more of a roadtrip through Roswell than a roadtrip to Roswell, New Mexico, but I am glad we stopped by because I made two startling discoveries: The singer John Denver hails from Roswell, New Mexico. Alien Gravesite in Aurora Cemetery: The Roswell of Texas?

by 41 Comments

Headstone at alien gravesite in Aurora, Texas (photo by Tui Snider)

Like many older graveyards, Aurora Cemetery has a Texas State Historical Marker. While pioneers, cattlemen, farmers and soldiers often figure prominently on such signs, what makes this historical marker so unusual is that it mentions a spaceship crash in 1897, and that this cemetery is where the alien’s body is buried!
