Today’s Tara Weaver who wrote the book, The Butcher and the Vegetarian: One Woman’s Romp Through a World of Men, Meat, and Moral Crisis. (Heck of a title, eh?)
What was the best thing you learned about yourself this past year? And how will you apply that lesson going forward?
While I am not sure what the most important thing I learned about myself this year is, I have learned something lately from these Reverb 10 prompts:
- For some reason, when I reflect upon myself, the bad is much easier for me to see than the good.
Yikes! I have noticed that the Reverb 10 prompts that make me squirm the most are the ones where we are supposed to compliment ourselves, such as the one about, “what makes you beautifully different.” I have been working on my self-esteem for years, and thought I was doing pretty well, but there you go. I found a blind spot.
“How can you be more effective in 2011?”
One way I can be more effective in 2011 is to offer myself and my actions as much kindness as I would someo. In other words, I plan to be a better friend to myself.
