Saturday Show & Tell – 6th Edition

Now that the Blog Carnival site has recovered, I received a bunch of interesting submissions for Saturday Show & Tell. The first one, as you can see at the top of this post, is a photo from Paula Puffer. As she explains: “It was taken a couple weeks ago at Armand Bayou Nature Center here in Texas. I love the contrast of the colors and the newness of the leaves on the tree. Spring has definitely sprung!” To see more of her photography, writing and other projects, check out Paula Puffer and her blog, Don’t Be a Pickle Bump. While…

Saturday Show & Tell – Short and Sweet

This week’s Saturday Show & Tell is short and sweet thanks to a technical glitch. Turns out that items submitted through the blog carnival site got tossed to the ether and are now cavorting with Amelia Earhart, Jimmy Hoffa and all the socks that go MIA each year from my washer. I usually get half a dozen really spammy submissions in addition to the sincere ones, but this week – nothing – which I found odd. Fortunately, Mad Kane sent an email to me directly asking if her submission had made it through. It hadn’t. So, our first submission this…

Show & Tell – How to Manage Your Creative Flow

Two things set this week’s Saturday Show & Tell blog carnival apart from previous ones: Gender: This time around, a couple of guys joined in – hooray for adding some testosterne to the mix, fellas. Theme: Although I did not set up a theme for this week’s Show & Tell blog carnival, one has emerged all on its own: How to Manage Your Creative Flow. First up, Madeleine Begun Kane describes in rhyme how she copes with writer’s block in her post, Writing Humor Isn’t Funny. Next, Samir presents a piece entitled See Also … which he describes as, “Rambling…

Saturday Show & Tell – Texas Wildflowers

This week’s Saturday Show & Tell rounds up 4 posts, all from bloggers here in Texas. (Notice that I didn’t call us, “Texan bloggers,” I don’t think I have lived here long enough to qualify as a Texan yet!) Paula Puffer came up with this week’s timely theme: “Here’s something fun for this week’s carnival. Since it’s springtime in Texas, I thought wildflowers would be a good topic.” Oh, Paula, of course! Texas springtime and wildflowers go hand in hand. As I mentioned in, Wildflower Viewing: A Texan Tradition : “…it’s a rare Texan who does not know that the…

Saturday Show & Tell – International Women’s Day

Welcome to Saturday Show & Tell This week’s blog carnival has International Womens Day for a theme, since March 8th, 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of that celebration. Today’s roundup features 9 different bloggers, and offers a variety of perspectives on the female experience, with topics ranging from guilt-ridden Spring cleaning to guilt-free masturbation. Cherrye Moore kicks off this edition with a post entitled Happy International Womens Day. Cherrye is an American expat living in Italy, and her post explains how this holiday is celebrated in Italy. Katie Greenaway also muses about International Womens Day, Italian style, in a post…

Saturday Show & Tell – First Edition

Welcome to the very first Saturday Show & Tell blog carnival here at Mental Mosaic: Food for Your Muse. This week’s edition features 6 posts. That’s 5 more than I was expecting since I popped this idea on everyone at the last minute. (Full disclosure: I got 2 more submissions through the Blog Carnival site itself, but they were both rather spammy, so I have not included them.) First up is a post entitled, Messy Imperfect Funny Love-Filled Life, which comes from Kyra, who wrote, “I couldn’t decide which post to send to you but I settled on one that…
