Thanks for Pushing Me Over the Edge!

Phew! Wow! Where to begin? I’m pretty overwhelmed, but in a good way.  For starters, my Kickstarter Project was fully funded!!! I hated asking for financial help, and it was a really close call, but a few angel supporters swooped in at the last minute and pushed my campaign over the edge.  (And yes, I learned a lot from running that campaign, but that’s a topic for a future blog post.)   Major Heartfelt Thank You! Right now my main goal is to offer a hearty THANK YOU!!! to all 24 people who contributed to my Kickstarter: Brian Treybig Patricia Lynne…

Tui Snider: About my Music #dreampop #electronica

About my Music In addition to writing books, taking photos, and giving talks, I also compose music. This often comes as a surprise to people, since I don’t talk about it much. Even so, I’ve been writing songs and playing music for years. In fact, the first thing I ever wrote was a song called “Pig, Pot, Pan” because, at age 5, those were the only words I knew how to spell! Come to My Senses My first album is called “Come to My Senses,” and I recorded it in my dining room! And in answer to the question I’m…

My Kickstarter Campaign for a Book, Photo Show & Music CD

2016 Writer in Residence I haven’t mentioned it in a while, but I was chosen to be the 2016 Writer in Residence for Tarleton State University’s Langdon Review Weekend – and it’s coming right up! (Click here to read a blog post about last year’s Langdon Review Weekend.) The Langdon Review Weekend is an amazing annual literary conference, and I am super thrilled and honored to be their resident writer! My residency starts on August 27th. I’ll be staying in the gorgeous historic town of Granbury, Texas for two whole weeks with the sole purpose of creating and reaching out to the community. Brainstorm I’ve been brainstorming recently about what…

Lost & Found: Valentine’s Edition – Love as an Undertow

Lost & Found: Valentine’s Edition This post was inspired by the Lost & Found: Valentine’s Edition blog hop which I ran into over at Arlee Bird’s blog: Tossing it Out. Do you remember that special feeling of love found? And who hasn’t experienced the emotional experience of love lost? Some of you might have even lost a love only to find that person later for another go around. Tell your story about love lost or found in our special Valentine’s blogfest. Your post can be a short fiction, an essay, poetry, or even a song–let your imagination run free. Any genre is…

Come to My Senses by Mental Mosaic

Mental Mosaic – The Band Back in March of 2013, I started sharing my songs on this blog. Well, OK, so far I’ve only shared this one: “Undertow”, but there are plenty more where that came from! Why do I call my band Mental Mosaic? Mostly because I didn’t want to get hung up trying to find the perfect name for this project, and since I already own that domain, it made sense. “Keep it simple” and all that, y’know? And, yeah, my band = me, but don’t tell anyone! This Song Goes Out to You! Anyway, here’s the second…
