Since I love encouraging others so much, I’m sharing Creativity Memes for this year’s A to Z Blog Challenge. The quotes are from all over, but I took each photo with my iPhone. Here’s today’s featured letter:
R is for Realize Your Value
“If you’re starving for something, there are probably a lot of other people who need it too.” – Miranda July
I love this quote from Miranda July. I snagged it from an interview of hers I read recently and it really struck home with me because this is something I struggle with all the time!
Sure, I love creating things, but do they have any value? Are they worthwhile? Am I just being silly and selfish?
Every now and then, however, I’ll get some positive feedback. Whether it’s an Amazon review for one of my books, an email, a tweet, or even a comment to me in person, these little tibdbits are what keep me going! (By the way, the interview I linked to isn’t the one where I grabbed this quote from Miranda July, but it’s still a great interview!)
What about you? Do you feel like your creativity matters? Do you care if it helps other people or not? What keeps you going?
Follow me on Instagram & I’ll follow you back!
If you are on Instagram, I’d be delighted to follow you. Simply follow my photo feed (@TuiSnider) on Instagram and I’ll follow you back! Isn’t Instagram fun? I’ve gone from turning up my nose at the idea of cell phone pictures, to being an avid iPhone photographer. I even had my first gallery show last summer!
